We seek a Pharmacy Technician to join our Santa Barbara team, assisting with medication preparation, packaging, bar-coding, and stock replenishment while delivering exceptional service under pharmacist supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, valid state-tech license, 1+ year of pharmacy experience; PTCB/ExCPT preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; higher level education preferred.
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the respective state required.
• Active National Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
• 1+ years of direct pharmacy-related experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; additional languages helpful.
• Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of customer service to patients.
• Assist with medication preparation and packaging.
• Prepare products for use including packaging, repacking, compounding, bar-coding, or other necessary manipulation.
• Ensure medication preparation complies with laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and policies.
• Deliver products to patient care areas maintaining integrity, security, and confidentiality.
• Operate pharmacy tech systems and technology (Parat Amax, TCG, Verify, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, local laws and accreditation standards.
• Stay updated on department policies and procedures.
• Assist with inventory control: receiving, stocking, replenishment.
• Receive and stock products per policy and storage requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering needs to pharmacists.

Position Summary

As a pivotal team member, this role will have the ability to dive into exciting tasks like preparing and distributing pharmaceuticals, including simple compound preparations. Assists with inventory control and compliance audits, ensuring our pharmacy runs smoothly. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain important pharmacy records, working directly with the Manager and Pharmacist, ensuring we deliver top-notch, patient-focused specialty pharmacy services. Essential Responsibilities / Duties

• Excels in providing the highest level of customer service, whether it is answering calls or warmly greeting patients in person.
• Assist with medication preparation, ensuring that everything is all right.
• Prepares the product for use, which includes packaging, repacking, compounding, bar-coding, or any other necessary manipulation.
• Ensures medication preparation is carried out in strict compliance with laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and our client's policies and procedures. This includes participating in a double-check system for all preparations.
• Responsible for delivering the product to patient care areas while upholding its integrity, security, and confidentiality.
• Maintain proficiency and are comfortable with various technology such as automated dispensing machines (i.e.: Parat Amax, TCG, etc.), robotics, barcoding systems (e.g., Verify), computer applications, and other pharmacy and general technology solutions.
• Maintain strict adherence to all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, and compliance with all accreditation standards.
• Stays updated on all policies and procedures of the department and the organization, ensuring strict adherence.
• Helps with inventory control, encompassing receiving, stocking, and replenishment of stock.
• Receive various products, such as those from wholesalers and direct shipments, and stock them according to legal storage requirements and the client's policy.
• Checks all products diligently to ensure they are within their use-by date and suitable for use, following processes developed by department leadership.
• Actively monitor and replenish the stock of medications and supplies, while also communicating ordering needs to Pharmacists and purchasers in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working area, as required, ensuring that the pharmacy remains compliant with all relevant regulations.
• Develops performance or quality improvement initiatives, actively participating in idea creation and the initiation and execution of projects.

Education

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required; higher level education preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Or Registrations

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license with the Board of Pharmacy in the respective state of applicant required.
• Active National Certification verified by PTCB or ExCPT is preferred.

Experience

• 1+ years of direct pharmacy-related experience required

Knowledge & Skills

• Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families/visitors, colleagues, and others.
• Ability to speak the English language, read, interpret, and follow complicated verbal and written instruction with precision, accuracy, and dependability.
• Additional language skills (beyond that of English) appropriate to the patient population served is helpful.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to detail, including being able to perform general mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios & proportions).
• Basic computer proficiency inclusive of the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.
• Maintain the required level of competency to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Special Working Conditions (On-call, Travel, Shift, Coverage)

• Clearway Health Specialty Pharmacies, serving patients in hospitals, health systems, and communities, may require employees at client sites to work on company-recognized holidays, with eligibility for holiday pay.

This information is being provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Clearway Health. The current annual compensation range for this position is $50,000 - $66,500. The actual rate within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. In addition to a competitive base salary, this role is eligible to participate in the company’s bonus program as part of its comprehensive and rewarding benefits package.
