Job summary

Henry Ford Health System in Detroit is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to assist with prescription distribution and over-the-counter medication sales. This role requires a high school diploma and a valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.

The technician will perform billing, maintain files, and interact with customers. Previous retail pharmacy experience is preferred. The position has a rotating shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) months of retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Requires valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists in the distribution and processing of prescriptions and the sale of over-the-counter medications enters prescription data into computer. Performs billings and file maintenance. Receives payments for prescriptions and other purchases. Assists in the stocking and storage of inventory. Interacts and communicates with the public. Reports to pharmacists.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Minimum of six (6) months of retail pharmacy experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.
