Qualifications

• 2 years pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• 40 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by ACPE or ASHP preferred.
• RPHT-TX Licensed required or PHAR INT alternate
• CPHT certification preferred
• Certification and licensure indicate compliance with state requirements

Responsibilities

• Processes prescriptions/medication orders and prepares medication
• Ensures proper distribution/delivery of pharmaceutical and supply shipments
• Ensures doses are delivered within established department time-frame standards
• Completes daily and monthly activity checklists including expired drug checking, cleaning, and ordering supplies
• Checks all communications including e-mail and mailbox each shift
• Completes daily filing of medication orders and stop orders
• Maintains stock of medications and supplies with Materials and Logistics
• Assists in implementing new formulations and updating Master Formulation Book and M&R system
• Performs weekly inspections of pharmacy areas for drug accountability logs and study drugs
