Job description

Overview:
  • Must be currently registered with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
  • Expected to obtain PTCB or ExCPT certification within 18 months of hire.
  • The cost of the certification examination will be reimbursed upon successful completion.
Schedule:
  • Candidate must have the availability to work between 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Monday to Friday - 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required - 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every 3rd Weekend Rotation
  • Holiday Rotation - One major, one minor
Job Description Summary:

Transports medications and supplies to pharmacies, enables partners to perform their duties in an effective manner, and maintains inventory and a clean pharmacy environment.

Essential Functions:
  • Complies with USP 795, 797, and 800, and relevant regulatory standards for medication handling. Contributes to training of new pharmacy assistants when appropriate.
  • Transports medications and supplies safely, timely, and accurately to their designated destinations.
  • Performs drug inventories, rotations, and stock management, including sorting, unpacking, and restocking medications.
  • Adheres to isolation and radiation precautions and utilizes proper body mechanics when handling medications.
  • Communicates using customer-friendly phone skills and appropriately directs customer concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly pharmacy and maintains accurate and timely documentation of completed tasks in designated record keeping systems.
Education Requirement:

High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Detail oriented.

Experience:

Six months of previous pharmacy or customer service experience, preferred.
