Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to be at the front line, interacting with customers and building strong patient relationships. The program includes an earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor, guiding you toward PTCB certification and a portable credential for career growth.

Under supervision, you will assist pharmacists, process prescriptions, and use pharmacy systems.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and performs duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager.
• Uses pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with and coach technicians in operation of systems.
• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engages customers and patients, greets them, and assists with products and services.
• Reviews and complies with the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and company policies.
• Assists with inventory management, ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Supports clinical services as required and helps coordinate with external providers.
