Job summary

Walgreens is transforming its Pharmacy Technician roles toward patient-centric care. As a Pharmacy Technician or Apprentice, you’ll engage customers, support pharmacy operations, and work toward PTCB certification through an earn-while-you-learn program recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor.

The role emphasizes customer service, accurate prescription handling, inventory management, and collaboration with pharmacists.

Qualifications

• Fluent reading, writing and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior Walgreens experience.
• Prefer good math, counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer computer skills and inventory control knowledge.
• Prefer PTCB certification if available.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers and patients, greet them, offer help, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Assist in pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision, enter patient and drug information, fill prescriptions, verify accuracy, and support workflow.
• Process third-party claims, perform clerical duties, and help with inventory management and ordering.
• Support clinical services coordination and maintain relationships with local medical providers.
• Maintain stock, cleanliness, and orderly appearance of the Pharmacy Department; adhere to company policies.
