Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Ambulatory, Part Time at our Main Campus in Cleveland. The role involves assisting the compounding lab, preparing prescriptions, managing outpatient inventory, operating the POS system, and interacting with patients and providers.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, 6 months related experience or completion of a Pharmacy Technician program, and hold or obtain CPhT certification with OBOP registration within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months related experience or completion of a Pharmacy Technician program.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by PTCB or NHA upon hire.
• Active OBOP registration as CPT/Registered CPT or Technician Trainee upon hire and upgrade within 6 months.

A caregiver in this position works a day/evening rotation from 6:45AM - 8:15PM, with weekend and holiday availability.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.
• Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.
• Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.
• Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.
• Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.
• Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.
• Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Six months of related experience OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program
• Upon hire, you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
• In addition to the above requirement, upon hire, it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee
• Please note: Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months
