Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals. Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs. Assists with compounding (didactic and/or basic hands-on). Participates in assigned training program and continuing education activities to attain competency in different technician duty areas. Volunteers for extra assignments and/or cross training in other department roles and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician. May volunteer to participate in a temporary taskforce/short-term committee. Acts as an informal resource for other technicians with less experience. Provides support in the training of students and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians. Serves as a mentor and role model. Stays abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice in pharmacy dispensing, medication dispensing systems, controlled substance distribution to floors, pre-packing and any other pharmacy technician duties.
