Qualifications

• Assist pharmacists in storing, preparing, dispensing, delivery, reconciling and charging medications.
• Maintain adequate drug inventory and quality control procedures.
• Receive inventory, verify stock, and enter data into the computer system to maintain inventory records.
• Mastered Pharmacy Tech 1 requirements with additional specialization such as IV, Automation and Inventory Control.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Pharmacy; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• May lead and direct the work of others.
• Technician II will only perform activities compliant with the LA Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Under direct supervision of a licensed, registered pharmacist, assists the pharmacist(s) in storing, preparing, dispensing, delivery, reconciling and charging of all medications. The position is expected to assist the pharmacist(s) in maintaining an adequate drug inventory and quality control procedures. The position is expected to receive inventory, verify stock, and enter data into the computer system to maintain inventory records. The technician has mastered all Pharmacy Tech 1 requirements and has additional specialization requirements such as IV, Automation and Inventory Control. The position requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Pharmacy and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, is expected to perform a variety of complicated tasks and may lead and direct the work of others. The Technician II will only perform activities that are in compliance with the LA Board of Pharmacy.
