Job summary

Fagron US is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support sterile product preparation, compounding, filling, and packaging in a controlled cleanroom environment. You will ensure quality, sterility, and patient safety while following SOPs, cGMPs, GDPs, and documentation practices.

The role requires gowning, aseptic technique, and coordination with production areas to meet production needs in a regulated facility. A high school diploma and 1–2 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a pharmacy, hospital, pharmaceutical manufacturing, sterile compounding, or similar regulated environment preferred.
  • Experience with cleanroom procedures, sterile compounding, aseptic processing, or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn cGMP, GDP, SOP, and cleanroom requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete required cleanroom gowning, aseptic technique, media-fill, and other job-related qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sterile compounding, aseptic filling, product assembly, and final packaging.
  • Maintain a sterile ISO 8 cleanroom through proper gowning, cleaning, and sanitization practices.
  • Set up, clean, and maintain equipment, ensuring required checks and validations are completed.
  • Stage and prepare batches, components, vials, solutions, and supplies for production.
  • Verify incoming materials meet applicable requirements and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Complete batch records, logbooks, cleaning records, equipment logs, and environmental measurements accurately and on time.
  • Support Right First Time (RFT) performance by minimizing errors and completing corrections promptly.
  • Participate in tech-check processes, gowning qualifications, media fills, and aseptic technique assessments to maintain compliance with cleanroom standards.
  • Coordinate with compounding, vial wash, and other production areas to ensure materials and supplies are available to meet production needs.
  • Maintain focus on patient safety, product quality, and accountability while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic production environment.

About The Job

The Pharmacy Technician will support the preparation, compounding, filling, and packaging of sterile pharmaceutical products in a controlled cleanroom environment. This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of product quality, sterility, accuracy, and patient safety while following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).



Key Responsibilities


  • Perform sterile compounding, aseptic filling, product assembly, and final packaging in accordance with established procedures, production schedules, and quality standards

  • Maintain a sterile ISO 8 cleanroom through proper gowning, cleaning, and sanitization practices

  • Set up, clean, and maintain equipment, ensuring required checks and validations are completed

  • Stage and prepare batches, components, vials, solutions, and supplies for production

  • Verify incoming materials meet applicable requirements and maintain accurate inventory records

Basic Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a pharmacy, hospital, pharmaceutical manufacturing, sterile compounding, aseptic filling, or similar regulated environment preferred.

  • Experience with cleanroom procedures, sterile compounding, aseptic processing, or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn cGMP, GDP, SOP, and cleanroom requirements.

  • Ability to successfully complete required cleanroom gowning, aseptic technique, media-fill, and other job-related qualifications.

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, sterility, and patient safety.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively in a production environment.



Working Conditions


  • Work is performed primarily in a controlled cleanroom environment requiring strict adherence to gowning, aseptic technique, and contamination-control procedures.

  • Employees must wear specialized protective clothing (\"gowning\" or \"garb\") and required PPE while working in classified areas.

  • May require remaining fully gowned in an ISO 8 environment for 6+ hours per shift.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods, including periods of standing up to 6 hours.

  • Requires frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and movement of materials during the work shift.

  • Requires pushing and pulling carts containing totes and pharmaceutical materials.

  • Ability to frequently lift or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • May occasionally require lifting or moving totes weighing more than 40 pounds; team lifting is strongly encouraged.

  • May require working in confined or tight spaces.

  • Employees may be exposed to chemical odors and fumes associated with cleaning and sanitization activities.

  • Moderate to high noise levels may be present from equipment and surrounding personnel.

  • Requires the ability to read small print on labels, batch records, and other documentation.

  • Strict compliance with PPE, safety, cleanroom, and contamination-control requirements is required.
