Job summary

Meijer, a family-owned retailer with a long Midwest heritage, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing operations and clinical services. You will retrieve medications, input prescription data, prepare labels, adjudicate claims, and handle paperwork in a confidential, accurate manner.

In this fast-paced setting, you will prioritize workload, assist customers, and maintain a clean, professional pharmacy. Teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED completion (state requirements apply).
• Retail/community pharmacy experience is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Proficient typing skills and neat handwriting.
• Strong organizational and prioritizing abilities.
• Team player with reliable attendance and basic math skills.
• Professional appearance suitable for a pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve prescribed medications from inventory.
• Enter customer and prescription data in the dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and drug orders.
• Order prescription medications for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock and maintain prescription inventory.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services.
• Prioritize workload and maintain a professional, confidential environment.

• Retrieving the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Inputting customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Creating prescription labels and adjudicating insurance claims.
• Completing paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Ordering prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stocking prescription medication.
• Promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to the customer.
• Prioritizing workload.
