Job summary

The Pharmacist technician will assist Pharmacists with technical and supportive functions, train and provide orientation and guidiance to newly hiredpharmacy technicians to the CNMC's way of doing things, establish and maintain good relationships with the health care team, coordinate responses and resolutions with appropriate internal and external parties, perform all tasks in a timely and safe manner that is consistent with hospital policies, procedures as well as state and federal laws.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; or an Associate's Degree in a science-related field with 1 year hospital pharmacy technician experience (preferred).
• 2 years hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill, sort and deliver medication orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Order processing with accurate data entry and tracking.
• Inventory control and monthly inspections of stock and expirations.
• Purchasing and invoicing: coordinate drug purchases and process invoices.
• Provide excellent patient and team communication; collaborate with healthcare professionals.

About the Role:

What You'll Bring:

Minimum Education

Minimum Work Experience

Inventory Control

• Responsible for inventory control.
• Communicates effectively with pharmacy purchaser about low stock items that need to be ordered.
• Performs monthly unit and section inspections to identify expired and soon to expire medication

• Maintain records of controlled substance orders, receipts and disposition.

• Maintain pyxis medication levels and accuracy of medication placement.

Purchasing and Invoicing

• Coordinate purchasing of drugs and related items, note receipt of product, processes invoices, and assures payment through system.

Customer Service

• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Able to effectively present information to the patient and in small group situations
• Able to collaborate with other healthcare professionals

• Anticipate and responds to customers needs; follows up until needs are met

• Strong interpersonal and people skills.
