Job summary

PharMerica in Vancouver, WA is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician for a non-retail, long-term care environment. You will fill prescriptions, label, and prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding, while maintaining accurate patient data and inventory control.

This role emphasizes professional communication, training support for staff, and opportunities for advancement within a growing company. Licensure as required by state is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
  • Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Responsibilities

  • Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
  • Accurately label products, including cautionary and auxiliary labels.
  • Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding (liquids, powders, ointments, etc.).
  • Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate labels.
  • Participate in pharmacy inventory management, including checking stock and removing expired medications.
  • Handle returned medications per protocol (credit or destruction).
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new pharmacy staff.
  • Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room and operate automated machines to prepack medications.
  • Mix IV medications and sanitize IV room/equipment.
  • Service facility-based dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
  • Perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned.

As a Pharmacy Technician you will:

  • Perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned.
