Job summary

Advanced Infusion Care in Valdosta, GA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join a patient-centric clinical team. The role supports in-home infusion patients, working 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with most weekends off.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, Georgia Tech license, and relevant certifications. Experience with CareTend or CPR+ is a plus. Join a growing team dedicated to advancing quality and improving lives.

Qualifications

  • Must have Active Georgia Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Must pass all relevant pharmacy competencies within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency and MS Office knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, packages, and distributes medications prescribed by physicians.
  • Maintains pharmacy area to ensure a clean, well-stocked condition.
  • Maintains staging area to set up drug orders for clean room preparation.
  • Calibrates pumps daily for base solutions.
  • Assists in calling and scheduling patient orders and insurance verification.
  • Maintains all legally required records and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Supports pharmacists, physicians, nursing, and clinical staff as needed.

Hours: 8:00 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required.
  • Registration as Pharmacy technician with Georgia State Board of Pharmacy is required.
  • Completion of pharmacy technician training and certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Pharmacy Technician Association, preferred, with certification to be completed within one year of employment.
  • Laboratory or healthcare experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with CPR+ or CareTend software is a plus along with home infusion experience, but not required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties, respects patient’s rights to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Prepares, packages, and distributes medications prescribed by physicians.

Continually maintains pharmacy area to ensure a clean, well-stocked condition.

  • Maintains “staging” area to set up drug and supply orders for preparation by staff in the clean room.
  • Calibrates pumps daily for base solutions.

Accurately follow dispensing, processing and shipping processes on the day-to-day basis.

  • Assists in calling and scheduling patient's order, insurance verification as well as preparing work orders.
  • Accurately maintains all legally required records.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Participates in patient evaluations.
  • Assists the supervisor in training of new staff and provides appropriate feedback as necessary.
  • Assists pharmacists, physicians, nursing, and clinical personnel with pharmacy services.
  • Maintains department facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff.
  • Follows and assists in inventory control procedures.
  • Completes paperwork and computer related duties.
  • Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member.
  • Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have Active Georgia Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Must pass all relevant pharmacy competencies within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in the workplace.
  • Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications.
