Job summary

Our client in Templeton, California is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract at a 122-bed acute care hospital. You will assist pharmacists with medication preparation, packaging, distribution, and inventory under direct supervision.

Four 10-hour shifts per week with start times at 6:00 AM, 8:30 AM, or 10:30 AM. Flexibility to work variable shifts is required; hospital and Epic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Knowledge of medication preparation and distribution processes.
• Experience with inventory control and unit-dose packaging.

Responsibilities

• Pull medications from stock and match with labels and patient profiles.
• Fill and deliver unit-dose cassettes to nursing units.
• Maintain floor stock, rotate inventory, and remove expired medications.
• Price and stock incoming medication deliveries.
• Prepare IV medications according to laws and regulations.
• Receive and verify orders from wholesalers and suppliers.
• Distribute stock and complete related paperwork.
• Process returns and back orders promptly.
• Perform other pharmacy duties as assigned.

Job Overview

Our client is hiring an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract opportunity at a 122-bed acute care hospital in Templeton, California.

The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists with medication preparation, packaging, distribution, inventory management, and other pharmacy-related duties under the direct supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist.

• Four 10-hour shifts per week.


• No fixed working days; schedule will vary.


• Start times may include 6:00 AM, 8:30 AM, or 10:30 AM.


• Flexibility to work variable shifts is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Pull medications from stock and accurately match them with corresponding labels and patient profiles.


• Fill and deliver unit-dose medication cassettes to nursing units.


• Maintain medication floor stock, including restocking, removing expired medications, and rotating inventory.


• Price and stock incoming medication deliveries.


• Prepare IV medication products in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.


• Receive and check orders from wholesalers and suppliers.


• Distribute stock appropriately and maintain related paperwork.


• Process medication returns and back orders in a timely manner.


• Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.


• Epic experience preferred.


• High school diploma/GED or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
