A family-oriented group of independent pharmacies is looking for a Full Time Pharmacy Technician to assist with processing and filling prescriptions at their Medicap Pharmacy in Story City, Iowa. You will work under pharmacist supervision, ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service and prompt handling of tasks. Experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position offers competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans.

Qualifications

GRX Holdings, LLC is a fast growing, family-oriented group of independent pharmacies looking for a Full Time, up to 32 hours per week, Pharmacy Technician to work at our Medicap Pharmacy in Story City, IA.

We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician that will process and fill prescriptions. You will assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision and in accordance with state and federal regulations, with technical functions in the pharmacy. Such functions may include measuring, counting, labeling, record keeping, and communicating with patients and other healthcare professionals. Ensures customer satisfaction by handling each customer in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner. We are looking for high energy technicians who are motivated, able to multitask and have excellent customer service skills.

Highly competitive pay rate commensurate with experience. No nights, Sundays, or holidays, and some flexibility in scheduling. Benefits and 401k with a company match, employee discount, and other benefits available. Fulltime positions are offered Medical/Dental/Vision benefits.

Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred but not required, we will train you!

This position is listed as a "Certified Pharmacy Technician," however we encourage applications from both certified candidates and those who do not have Pharmacy Technician experience. Please note that compensation for non-certified technician candidates will be considered based on experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Follow company policies and procedures including register performance, security issues, and confidentiality
• Greet customers and answer questions
• Receive prescriptions and check their validity
• Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
• Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims)
• Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
• Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned
• Comply with all security measures and quality standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

• Proven experience as pharmacy technician is a plus

Pharmacy technicians must be nationally certified and registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. Any person not currently registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee must obtain registration prior to commencing employment in an Iowa pharmacy.
