Job summary

University Health in Texas seeks an experienced pharmacy technician to join the Pharmacy Department. You will perform a variety of duties in pharmacy operations and assist licensed pharmacists under the supervision of professional staff to ensure timely, accurate patient service.

Your responsibilities include maintaining compliance with Texas pharmacy regulations, supporting cash handling procedures where designated, and adhering to the department’s career ladder requirements at the assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy registered pharmacy technician license required.
• Four+ years of experience as a registered pharmacy technician (RPhT) required.
• Career ladder requirements must be met at designated work location.
• Completion of Patient Services Cashier course may be required for designated cash handlers.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of duties required in pharmacy operations and assists the pharmacists in the accomplishment of their duties. Under the supervision of the professional staff, accomplishes competent, efficient and timely performance of assignments within the structure of the Pharmacy Department.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school/GED required or equivalent experience is required. Current pharmacy technician licensure from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required. Four or more years of experience as a registered pharmacy technician (RPhT) is required. Pharmacy technician must meet career ladder requirements, as per designated work location. College or commercial school courses in basic sciences, mathematics, business or other related areas and/or completion of technician training program is preferred. Designated cash handlers must successfully complete the Patient Services Cashier course and be designated as a Patient Services Cashier during the initial probationary period.

LICENSURE

Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration required.
