Job summary

Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support safe and effective medication delivery. You will read physician orders, prepare medications, dispense under the pharmacist's guidance, and help maintain a clean, efficient workflow while prioritizing patient safety.

Required CA Pharmacy Technician License; preferred chemo/ hyperalimentation preparation experience; familiarity with pharmacy computer systems is a plus. Pay range $52.99/hour.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Pharmacy Tech, you'll help our patients feel better by providing safe and effective medications to them. You'll help our doctors and nurses feel better knowing that you are providing accurate and timely medication to patients. Every day, you'll build trust by being extremely thorough and accurate at all times. Patient safety is your top priority, so you do everything you can to ensure all prescriptions are authentic, prepared correctly both in medication type and dosing, and are dispensed appropriately, under the Pharmacist's guidance. To be successful in this role, you follow all safety protocols, including those intended to prevent infection, and you keep a clean work area at all times. You are eager to learn or help out in any way needed to keep the pharmacy running smoothly and get our patients their medications.

*Job Requirements**Required*

• Completion of a recognized technician training program; or two years working experience as a health systems pharmacy technician.
• CA Pharmacy Technician License

*Preferred*

• College course work concentrated in science
• Previous certification in chemotherapy and hyperalimentation preparation
• Knowledge of Windows based computer systems
