Job summary

VIVA USA INC. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to work in a growing home infusion setting. You will prepare and compound sterile products, document IV admixtures, and communicate with patients and prescribers.

The role involves processing prescriptions, packaging meds for shipment, and assisting with copays and financial aid research. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, CA state licensure, and 6 months of technician experience.

Qualifications

• Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
• CA state pharmacy technician licensure is required.
• National certificate (PTCB) preferred but not required.
• At least 6 months experience as a pharmacy technician.
• At least 1 year experience compounding IV admixtures as a pharmacy technician.
• Excellent customer service skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Product preparation, compounding sterile products, and maintaining the pharmacy clean room suite to 797 requirements.
• Documentation of IV admixture and clean room suite sterility testing.
• Communication with patients, prescribers, and colleagues.
• Frequent phone conversations, emails, faxes.
• Fulfillment of prescriptions, packaging medications for shipment, processing copays, researching financial assistance.
• Complete order entry and refills under the supervision of the pharmacist.
• Inventory management and storage, complete appropriate documentation, such as labels, log sheets and reports.
• Participate in on call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.

As a Pharmacy Technician in a growing segment of healthcare, home infusion services, you will work with cutting edge technology compounding specialized and complex therapies that are administered to patients in their homes.

Key responsibilities

• Product preparation, compounding sterile products, and maintaining the pharmacy clean room suite to 797 requirements.
• Documentation of IV admixture and clean room suite sterility testing.
• Communication with patients, prescribers, and colleagues.
• Frequent phone conversations, emails, faxes.
• Fulfillment of prescriptions, packaging medications for shipment, processing copays, researching financial assistance.

Experience

• At least 6 months experience as a pharmacy technician.

• Excellent customer service skills (written and verbal) a must.
• Specialty Pharmacy experience is a plus.
• National pharmacy technician certification. Eligible for state registration, certification or licensure per state regulations.

Education
