Job summary

Skilled Nursing Pharmacy in San Diego, CA is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to support medication management for skilled nursing facility patients. You will assist in accurate preparation, packaging, and dispensing in a fast-paced setting, ensuring timely care and patient safety.

The role requires a California Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT) with familiarity in eMAR systems and unit-dose packaging. Prior long‑term care experience and strong communication are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Active California Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT) required.
• PTCB or ExCPT national certification preferred.
• Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or institutional pharmacy setting preferred.
• Familiarity with unit-dose packaging, cycle fills, and eMAR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in accurately preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications for skilled nursing facility residents.
• Process and verify medication orders, including controlled substances, in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Manage medication cycle fills, blister packs, and unit-dose dispensing for long-term care patients.
• Coordinate with nursing facility staff to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery.
• Maintain accurate patient medication profiles and update records in the pharmacy management system.
• Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
