Job summary

Ridgeland Comprehensive Treatment Center in Ridgeland, SC is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support medication dispensing under a pharmacist's guidance and help run the daily pharmacy operations.

Shifts are Tue and Fri mornings with occasional Saturdays, offering a great work/life balance. The role emphasizes patient service, inventory management, and compliance with safety protocols. Prior pharmacy tech experience and accredited training are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Pharmacy Technician training from an accredited program.
  • Previous experience with behavioral health or addiction recovery field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense medication under the guidance of a pharmacist.
  • Assist with daily operations of the pharmacy/medication dispensing department.
  • Stock, assemble, and distribute medications.
  • Greet patients, answer questions, and refer inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory and ensure medication availability.
  • Comply with procedures, rules, and infection-control policies.
  • Organize medications by reading orders and preparing labels.
  • Maintain records of physicians' orders and patient information.
  • Deliver medications to patients and departments.
  • Prepare reports and maintain a clean, safe pharmacy.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to work with the public.

Ridgeland Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Ridgeland, SC, is part of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment in the nation. Our nursing team provides compassionate, high quality safe and efficient medication dispensing to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

Your Job as a Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for dispensing medication, under the guidance of a pharmacist as well as assisting with the efficient and effective daily operations of the pharmacy/medication dispensing department.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supports pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications.
  • Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing, and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated medications.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, and Clinic "lockbox" policy.
  • Organizes medications to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating quantities, and assembling medication.
  • Maintains records by recording and filing physicians' orders, prescriptions and checking for patient names/ dates on returned bottles from previous dosing.
  • Ensures medication availability and security by delivering medications to patients and departments.
  • Complies with internal patient verification process and compliance against dose levels in EMR.
  • Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills, the ability to work with the public, and a general working knowledge pertaining to the efficient operation of an office in a medical clinic setting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Pharmacy Technician training from an accredited program
  • Previous experience with behavioral health or addiction recovery field preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
  • PTCB or NHA ExCPT National Certification or minimum certification or license required within the state where the Clinic is providing service.
