Job summary

Haven Behavioral Healthcare, an Oceans Healthcare Company, seeks pharmacy staff to prepare medications and sterile products for dispensing and to support hospital pharmacy operations in a dynamic clinical setting.

Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, the role includes compounding, inventory management, narcotics control, and staff training as part of daily pharmacy duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications and supplies for dispensing including pre-packing bulk medications, compounding ointments, creams, oral solutions, and sterile preparations.
• Prepare total parenteral nutrition solutions and large-/small-volume IV admixtures.
• Check unit doses and prescriptions for outpatient dispensing.
• Control and audit narcotics/stock substances on a regular basis.
• Prepare inventories and stock shelves across pharmacy locations.
• Provide training to new employees as needed and assist other pharmacy staff.

Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, selects and prepares medications, pharmaceutical products, and intravenous admixtures. Assists in the dispensing and distribution of medications. Maintains pharmacy merchandise and equipment. Reviews medication cassettes for returned medication; unit doses medication; transports pharmacy merchandise. Performs other duties as required.

Essential Functions:

1. Prepare medications and supplies for dispensing including: pre-packing bulk medications compounding ointments, creams, oral solutions, and other medications compounding total parenteral nutrition solutions compounding large-volume intravenous mixtures compounding small-volume IVPB mixtures preparing prescriptions for outpatients checking and unit dosing medication. Performed on a regular basis.
2. Control and audit narcotics / stock substance, on a regular basis.
3. Prepare inventories, order drugs and supplies from the storeroom, receive drugs and stock shelves in various pharmacy locations on a regular basis.
4. Perform monthly inspections, maintain workload records, and collect quality-assurance data.
5. Transport medications, drug-delivery devices, and other pharmacy equipment from the pharmacy to hospitals on a daily basis.
6. Assist in training new employees on an as needed basis.
7. Prepares sterile preparations with adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
8. Assist other pharmacy staff members as needed.
9. All other duties as assigned
