Job summary

SHR (Spectrum Healthcare Resources) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT/ExCPT) for the Orlando, FL area to support the Orlando VA Healthcare System across multiple sites. The role requires filling prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualified candidates will have active CPhT or ExCPT credentials, 1–2 years of hospital/clinic experience, and strong attention to detail, organization, and communication

Qualifications

• Active and current CPhT (PTCB) or ExCPT (NHA).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of recent pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, medications, and dosage forms.
• Familiarity with pharmacy systems and automated dispensing technology.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
• Effective organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, interpret, process, and fill prescription orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Utilize VA-approved pharmacy systems and automated dispensing equipment.
• Enter, verify, and update patient prescription information in electronic health records.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels, including medication storage, restocking, and expiration date monitoring.
• Support pharmacy operations in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Identify and report discrepancies, malfunctions, or workflow issues to supervisory personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal regulations, VA directives, and facility policies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA guidelines.

Pharmacy Technician (CPhT / ExCPT)

Location: Orlando, Florida (Multi-Site Assignment)

Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $40,000 – $50,000 annually

Work Schedule: TBD based on clinic assignment

Position Overview

Federal Contract Support Role

The Pharmacy Technician provides technical support to licensed pharmacists within the Orlando VA Healthcare System, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely medication distribution to Veterans. This position supports both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations across multiple VA facilities and requires strict adherence to federal regulations, VA policies, and established pharmacy procedures.

Duty Locations

• Orlando VA Medical Center – Orlando, FL
• Lake Baldwin VA Clinic – Orlando, FL
• Viera VA Clinic – Viera, FL
• Daytona Beach VA Clinic – Daytona Beach, FL (Travel between duty locations may be required based on operational needs.)

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Certification: Active and current CPhT (PTCB) or ExCPT (NHA)
• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of recent pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, medications, and dosage forms
  • Familiarity with pharmacy systems and automated dispensing technology
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment
  • Effective organizational and communication skills

Conditions of Employment

• Must successfully pass a federal background investigation and credentialing process
• Must comply with all VA onboarding and security requirements
• Must not be listed on the OIG exclusion list
• Must be eligible to work on a federal contract
• Ability to work at multiple locations as required

Work Environment
