Job summary

GRX Holdings, LLC at Medicap Pharmacy in Norwalk, Iowa is seeking a dependable Pharmacy Technician to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) under direct supervision. Assist the pharmacist with prescriptions, labeling, accuracy checks, and patient communication while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

No nights, Sundays, or holidays, with some scheduling flexibility. Training is provided; certification is encouraged, and non-certified applicants may be considered based on

Responsibilities

• Follow policies and procedures including register performance, security, and confidentiality.
• Greet customers and answer questions.
• Receive prescriptions and check their validity.
• Process prescriptions electronically and ensure information is complete and accurate.
• Resolve issues such as rejected insurance claims.
• Measure dosages and prepare prescriptions.
• Sort, stock, label medications and monitor inventory.
• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned.

Job description

GRX Holdings, LLC is a fast growing, family-oriented group of independent pharmacies looking for a Full Time, up to 40 hours per week, Pharmacy Technician to work at our Medicap Pharmacy in Norwalk, Iowa.

We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician that will process and fill prescriptions. You will assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision and in accordance with state and federal regulations, with technical functions in the pharmacy. Such functions may include measuring, counting, labeling, record keeping, and communicating with patients and other healthcare professionals. Ensures customer satisfaction by handling each customer in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner. We are looking for high energy technicians who are motivated, able to multitask and have excellent customer service skills.

Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred but not required, we will train you!

This position is listed as a "Certified Pharmacy Technician," however we encourage applications from both certified candidates and those who do not have Pharmacy Technician experience. Please note that compensation for non-certified technician candidates will be considered based on experience and training.

Responsibilities

Skills

• Proven experience as pharmacy technician is a plus


• Experience with an online prescription system is a plus


• Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement is a plus


• Excellent communication and customer service skills


• Outstanding organizational skills


• Reliable with a keen eye for detail

Pharmacy technicians must be nationally certified and registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. Any person not currently registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee must obtain registration prior to commencing employment in an Iowa pharmacy.
