Job summary

SBH Outpatient Pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will assist pharmacists with prescription processing, medication dispensing, and customer service, while ensuring compliance with all SBH Health policies and regulatory requirements.

Candidates should have a Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) and strong attention to detail, with previous outpatient or retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) preferred but required within 1 year of hire.
• Previous outpatient or retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with prescription processing and medication dispensing.
• Use pharmacy systems (PrimeRx, EPIC) to enter patient data and manage workflow.
• Register sales at cash register and handle cash as required.
• Handle non-technical calls from physicians and patients; provide courteous service.
• Manage inventory: stock, order, and check for expired meds.
• Process insurance claims and resolve basic billing issues.
• Maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
• Adhere to all pharmacy regulations and SBH Health policies.

Job description

SBH Outpatient Pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with prescription processing and medication dispensing. Complies with SBH Health policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and clinical coordinators including utilizing pharmacy systems (PrimeRx, EPIC) to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct and assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow.
• Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians. Provide courteous and professional service to patients and healthcare staffs
• Manage inventory, including stocking, ordering, and checking for expired medications
• Process insurance claims and resolve basic billing issues
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
• Adhere to all federal, state, and institutional pharmacy regulations and policies

Requirements

• Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) preferred but required within 1 year of hire.
