Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide distributive pharmacy services under supervision of the registered pharmacist. This role supports prescription processing, inventory management, and communication with patients and providers.

No experience required upon hire, but Kentucky registration is required within the specified timeframe; CPhT within 6 months, with CPhT-Adv preferred. Per diem/PRN schedule offers flexibility in a hospital setting.

Job Summary

Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support for the registered pharmacist.

Job Responsibilities

• Processes prescriptions and requests for refills from patients.
• Orders and maintains inventory.
• May communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients in person or via telephone as needed.
• Inputs privileged health information into computer system.
• May refill and maintain automated dispensing system.
• May perform IV fluid activities and IV admixture functions including IV chemotherapy.
• May perform service technician functions including operating rooms by distributing and maintaining room trays and anesthesia boxes.
• May perform narcotic technician functions.
• May perform medication reconciliation
• May perform meds-to-beds

• Works under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Position Requirements

• Work Experience
• No experience required upon hire.
• Education
• High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration
• Pharmacy Tech - Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
• CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA) required within 6 months of employment in this position AND
• CPhT-Adv - Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Board of Pharmacy Technician Specialties (BPTS) preferred
