Job summary

UNLV Health in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist in the practice of pharmacy under the Pharmacist's license. You will receive prescriptions, count, pour, weigh, measure and mix medications and maintain patient profiles, while processing insurance claims in line with Nevada rules.

This full-time role offers hourly compensation $16.45 to $19.66 and benefits including holidays, PTO, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• A Pharmacy Technician must be registered with the Nevada Board of Pharmacy.
• Maintains required in-service training as required by the Nevada Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to use relevant information and judgment to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of Nevada state pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Computer and typing skills; ability to learn pharmacy software systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for diverse teams.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and drug names.
• Knowledge of confidentiality and HIPAA laws.
• Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment.

Salary Range: $16.45 To $19.66 Hourly

The Pharmacy Technician working under the Pharmacist's license, assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, performing routine pharmacy functions including receiving prescriptions from patients and physicians. Prepares prescriptions by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing while working within the regulations of the Nevada Board of Pharmacy. Maintains patient profiles, prepares insurance claim forms. May be asked to perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Must graduate from Pharmacy Tech School or complete the Pharmacy Tech in training certificate through the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy.
