Mountains Community Hospital in Lake Arrowhead, CA, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists and lead technicians in delivering safe, quality pharmaceutical services to patients and staff.
Responsibilities include preparing medications (including sterile IV compounds) under supervision, restocking Pyxis cabinets, processing outpatient prescriptions, inventory management, and USP 797 compliance, with a part-time schedule and base pay of $25.00 per hour.
Summary
The Pharmacy Technician’s main duty is to assist the pharmacist and Lead Pharmacy Technician in all areas of pharmaceutical services by aiding with the promotion and delivery of quality, safe, rational and effective pharmaceutical services to the patients, and health care practitioners of Mountains Community Hospital.
Department Specific Duties
Prepare and distribute medications, including sterile IV compounds, under pharmacist supervision.
Restock Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, crash carts, and medication inventory.
Maintain compliance with USP <797> sterile compounding standards.
Assist with outpatient prescription processing and medication packaging.
Monitor medication inventory, expiration dates, recalls, and temperature logs.
Support pharmacy quality improvement, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.
Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication, organizational, and basic math skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
One year of hospital pharmacy experience
Experience with sterile IV compounding, Pyxis, and unit-dose medication preparation
