About Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital
Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital has proudly served residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953. With 632 beds, Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is a major teaching and research hospital and home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. The hospital is also known for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart and vascular and cancer care.
Scope of work
Fills medication orders including oral, injectable and topical medications and intravenous admixtures.
Assists in the bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products. Prepares and distributes floor stock items in response to requisition forms. Inventories and restocks shelves in immediate work area, checks for outdated drugs. Enters charges and credits into the computer for all medications and IV admixtures dispensed from the Pharmacy, documents all medications and IV solutions returned to the Pharmacy. Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and/or other departments of the Hospital. Performs necessary record keeping functions. Answers telephone and assists at Pharmacy window. May rotate within hospital and out-patient pharmacy service areas as required. Maintains the work area in a safe, orderly manner. Follows appropriate clean room (797) guidelines in the preparation of intravenous admixtures
