This position is responsible for supporting pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists with prescription processing, sterile compounding, inventory management, quality assurance activities, and patient service functions in accordance with state and federal regulations, USP standards, and company policies. This role coordinates medication, supply, and equipment deliveries; maintains accurate patient, pharmacy, and quality records; and serves as a key point of contact for patients, caregivers, providers, and internal teams. The Pharmacy Technician also performs administrative and operational duties to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of home infusion pharmacy services.
1. Support pharmacists in coordinating daily pharmacy operations and workflow to ensure efficient, safe, and timely delivery of pharmacy services.
2. Perform prescription processing, order entry, and related documentation activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
3. Prepare and compound sterile medications and pharmaceutical products in compliance with applicable laws, USP standards, accreditation requirements, and company policies.
4. Maintain clean room environments, pharmacy equipment, and infusion devices to support regulatory compliance and patient safety.
5. Conduct and document quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.
6. Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medications, supplies, and equipment.
7. Coordinate patient medication, supply, and equipment refills, deliveries, and related service logistics to support continuity of care.
8. Maintain accurate and complete patient, pharmacy, and operational records within electronic information management systems.
9. Provide professional customer service by communicating with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, referral sources, and internal departments, escalating clinical concerns as appropriate.
10. Support reimbursement and administrative processes by verifying required authorizations, maintaining documentation, and assisting with pharmacy records management.
11. Generate, distribute, and maintain operational, quality, and management reports while participating in performance improvement initiatives.
12. Provide administrative and cross-functional support to pharmacy leadership and other departments while completing required training, competencies, and assigned projects.
13. Other related duties as assigned by manager or designee.
