PharMerica in Greensburg, PA is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician for a non-retail, long-term care-focused role. You will fill prescriptions, prepare medications, and manage labels while supporting inventory and staff onboarding.

Ideal candidates have a state-licensed tech credential, pharmacy experience, medical terminology knowledge, and strong attention to detail. On-site schedule aligns with M-F and weekend shifts as listed.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
• Experience in a pharmacy setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficient computer use; ability to identify medications.
• Detail oriented, goal oriented, team player with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing.
• Label products with cautionary and auxiliary labels.
• Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding.
• Enter patient and prescription data into the system to generate labels.
• Assist with inventory management and handling returned meds.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff.
• Operate in narcotics room and assist with automated prepackaging.
• Mix IV medications and sanitize IV room/equipment.
• Serve facility-based dispensing machines.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Accurately label products, including cautionary and auxiliary labels.
• Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding (liquids, powders, ointments, etc.).
• Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate labels.
• Participate in pharmacy inventory management, including checking stock and removing expired medications.
• Handle returned medications per protocol (credit or destruction).
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
• Assist with onboarding and training new pharmacy staff.
• Perform specialized tasks such as:
• Working in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
• Operating automated machines to prepack medications.
• Mixing IV medications and sanitizing IV room/equipment.
• Servicing facility-based dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
• Perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state
• Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Desired:

• Long Term Care pharmacy experience.
• Position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business day
