Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the Genoa mental health pharmacy in Syracuse, NY. Primary duties include dispensing prescriptions and clerical tasks under a registered pharmacist's supervision.

Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5:00pm, with a 12:30pm–1:00pm lunch. Location: 1045 James St, Syracuse, NY. Pay ranges with experience from $16.00 to $29.00 hourly for full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician licensed and certified.
• Pharmacy data entry experience preferred.
• Access to reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and clinic partners.
• Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the pharmacist.
• Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies.
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders.
• Verify stock and enter data to maintain inventory records.
• Assist pharmacist in pharmacy functions and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
• Perform clerical duties related to the department.
• Communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

We seek a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health pharmacy, primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties while under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Hours: Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts between the hours of 8:30am-5:00pm with lunch from 12:30pm to 1:00pm

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and clinic
• Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
• Orders, receives, and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
• Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
• Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
• Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
• Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Other duties as assigned
