SpartanNash in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to assist licensed pharmacists by preparing medications, labeling bottles, stocking products, and handling patient checkouts with care and accuracy.

You will use computer systems to maintain patient profiles and insurance claims, while providing friendly customer service and ensuring compliance with HIPAA in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of customer service-oriented pharmacy experience preferred; must have state registration or certification.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Suggestive selling and product knowledge.
  • Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Stock and take inventory of medications (prescription and over the counter).
  • Notify Pharmacy Manager of supplies/products to order.
  • Receive prescriptions/refills from patients.
  • Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, package and label products.
  • Maintain customer profiles and prepare insurance forms.
  • Operate cash register, display costs, make change, and issue receipts.
  • Be familiar with all products carried in the department.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive and well-stocked department.
  • Abide by HIPAA and all policies and procedures.
  • Assist with tasks delegated by pharmacist on duty; other duties as needed.

Assist with preparing prescribed medication to patients by counting tablets, labeling bottles, stocking products, providing customer service, utilizing the computer systems to maintain patient profiles and insurance claims, and checking out patients that ensures that the shift contributes to the financial interest of the store.
