Job summary

Matrix Providers is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Fort Meade Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center. This full-time role involves dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, and supporting pharmacists using MHS Genesis EMR and pharmacy systems.

The ideal candidate has an ASHP-accredited program or US military training, PTCB certification, and BLS. One year of recent experience is preferred and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician program or a formal military medical services training program.
• Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• BLS certification by AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications by filling prescriptions and entering orders into pharmacy databases.
• Receive, interpret, and process outpatient prescriptions and inpatient medication orders while assisting pharmacists.
• Maintain accurate prescription files and medication records in compliance with regulations.
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory and report out-of-stock items.
• Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals and patients; support operations.

is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join our team of talented professionals providing healthcare services to Military Service Members and their families at Fort Meade Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center.

Compensation

This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly

$20.08-$24.48 per hour plus $5.09 H&W

Schedule

. The normal hours of work are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30 am � 4:30 pm hours (excluding federal holidays). The exact hours of duty will be coordinated between the Contractor and the department. 40 hours per week.

Current Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30 am � 4:30 pm or 8:00 am � 5:00 pm

Requirements

Degree: CertificateEducation

: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.Certification:

Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).BLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Experience

One year of experience within the last two years as a pharmacy technician.

Job Summary

Dispense medications by filling new and refill prescriptions and entering prescription orders into pharmacy databases.Receive, interpret, and process outpatient prescriptions and inpatient medication orders while assisting pharmacists with medication preparation.Provide medication-related support by responding to patient and provider inquiries, monitoring drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.Maintain accurate prescription files, medication records, and documentation in compliance with regulations and standard operating procedures.Manage pharmaceutical inventory through ordering, stocking, restocking, supply monitoring, and reporting out-of-stock items.Conduct quality assurance activities, including drug storage inspections, expired inventory reviews, workload tracking, and error reporting.Ensure accountability and security of medications, including controlled substances, while following storage and dispensing requirements.Utilize MHS Genesis Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other pharmacy automation systems to support patient care and pharmacy operations.Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals and patients while delivering courteous, patient-centered customer service.Support clinic operations and regulatory compliance by participating in quality improvement programs, inspections, peer reviews, staff meetings, mandatory training, and Joint Commission standards activities.
