Job summary

Genoa Healthcare in Abingdon, VA seeks a Pharmacy Technician to provide exceptional service in a clinic pharmacy setting within UnitedHealth Group’s family of services.

You will fill prescriptions, assist the pharmacist, manage inventory, process deliveries with your own vehicle, and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements while supporting a coordinated care team.

• Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders; verifies stock and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Communicates clearly with team and patients, supporting a coordinated care model.
• Ability to make local deliveries using own vehicle as needed.

Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm (Lunch 12:30pm - 1pm)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
• Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
• Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
• Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
• Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
• Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
• Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Other duties as assigned
• Ability to make local deliveries per business needs using your own vehicle

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of New Jersey
• Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver's license
• Ability to use one's own vehicle for deliveries and mail runs

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail Pharmacy Technician experience
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
