The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) Deerfield location is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem to support pharmacy operations. Under pharmacist supervision, you will compound and dispense medications, verify information, and assist with inventory, labeling, and patient profiles.

This part-time, temporary-intermittent role requires a Florida Pharmacy Technician registration and at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Department of Health.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsabilités

• Handles inventory to ensure the pharmacy is stocked.
• Receives written prescriptions, fills prescriptions or refill requests, and verifies information.
• Answers telephones and responds to questions or requests.

• Establishes and maintains patient profiles and records.
• Transfers medication to sterile syringes using aseptic techniques.

The UHealth system at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem at our UHealth Deerfield location.

The Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist. Moreover, an employee in this position performs clerical duties relating to the department, receives and stores incoming supplies. The Pharmacy Technician – Per Diem also verifies stock and enters data into the computer to maintain accurate and complete inventory records.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Weighs, counts, measures, and mixes medication.
2. Handles inventory to ensure that the pharmacy is appropriately stocked.
3. Receives written prescription, fills prescriptions or refill requests, and verifies that information is complete and accurate.
4. Answers telephones and responds to questions or requests.
5. Fills bottles with prescribed medications, and types and affixes labels.
6. Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items, and referring them to the appropriate staff.
7. Establishes and maintains patient profiles and records.
8. Transfers medication from vials to the appropriate number of sterile and disposable syringes using aseptic techniques.
9. Supplies and monitors robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers.
10. Prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms and handles insurance claim records.
11. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Department of Health.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
