South Texas Health System seeks Pharmacy Technicians/Trainees to assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventories, and keeping records in a hospital setting. Under supervision, you will follow procedures and comply with state and federal regulations while supporting patient care and safety.
Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and a current Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration; some college or an Associate’s degree is preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Pharmacy Technicians/Trainees, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy technicians/trainees assist the pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians/trainees function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
