Job summary

San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in Fresno, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will perform a wide range of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system, including preparing and distributing medications and maintaining confidential patient records.

Required are a high school diploma, a current CA Pharmacy Technician license, and an active license.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performs technical and clerical duties related to hospital drug distribution.
• Fills physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including IV admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations, maintains inventory and patient records.
• May participate in the Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.

Hospital Details

San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, located in Fresno, CA, is a 62 bed acute rehab hospital, providing rehabilitative services to people recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. We help our patients regain their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system. Duties would include filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining confidential patient records. May participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.

Required Skills

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
• Valid driver’s license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivering to sites.
