Job summary

Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital-based pharmacy team. You will assist in medication preparation, labeling, dispensing, and inventory management while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

The full-time night shift (8 PM–7 AM; 7 on/7 off) emphasizes accuracy, patient and staff service, and close collaboration with licensed pharmacists. Prior hospital experience is preferred, and PHAR-C certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in a hospital Pharmacy required

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by monitoring stock, ordering supplies, and conducting regular inventory audits.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions from patients and healthcare staff regarding medications and pharmacy services.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication orders, dispensing activities, and inventory transactions in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to promote safe medication practices.
  • Ensure that pharmacy equipment is functioning properly and assist in troubleshooting issues that arise.
  • Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Stay current with pharmacy practices and participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

PHAR-C - Certified Pharmacy Tech preferred

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician supports the delivery of safe and effective pharmaceutical care by assisting in medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management. This role ensures the smooth operation of the pharmacy by maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, providing excellent customer service, and supporting healthcare professionals in delivering optimal patient care.

Schedule: Full-Time, Nights, 8P-7A, 7 ON / 7 OFF

Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of experience in a hospital Pharmacy required
Licenses and Certifications
  • PHAR-C - Certified Pharmacy Tech preferred
Essential Functions

  • Provides excellent customer service by answering questions from patients and healthcare staff regarding medications and pharmacy services, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Maintains accurate records of medication orders, dispensing activities, and inventory transactions in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities, including medication storage checks and compliance with safety standards, to promote safe medication practices.
  • Ensures that pharmacy equipment is functioning properly and assist in troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Works closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to facilitate effective communication and coordinate patient care.
  • Stays current with pharmacy practices and participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
