Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, stocking, and record-keeping in a high-volume outpatient setting in New York. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program or PTCB Certification (CPHT) required.
• Current license as a registered pharmacy technician in NYS, required when hired on/after 4/25/21.
• Minimum of two (2) years related experience as a Pharmacy Technician including retail pharmacy with a computerized system within the last three (3) years, required.

Responsibilities

• Assists Registered Pharmacist in non-professional preparation and dispensing of medications, including filling, labeling and stocking.
• Maintains records for medications and orders, and enters orders into computer system.
• Maintains inventory at workstations and assists in stock control and record-keeping.
• Operates point-of-sale cash register per department policy to ensure positive customer experience.
• Interacts with customers and healthcare providers to facilitate prescriptions and obtain prior authorizations.
