Job summary

Clearwater Valley Health Pharmacy-Orofino is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing prescriptions, restocking shelves, and helping customers.

Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will perform data entry, handle transactions, and maintain inventory while ensuring patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Pharmacy Technician license with Idaho Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Complete Clearwater Valley and St. Mary's Health Technician in Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with customers and provide guidance on locating products or services.
• Process transactions accurately (cash, checks, credit cards) following policies.
• Restock shelves, update pricing, and check in vendor deliveries; maintain inventory systems.
• Assist pharmacist in retail and/or hospital pharmacy as needed.
• Perform clerical duties related to the department.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
• Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
• Collaborate with co-workers in person, by writing, and by telephone.

Clearwater Valley Health Pharmacy-Orofino

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions.

Essential Job Functions:

• Communicates effectively with customers and provide guidance for locating products or understanding services
• Accurately process transactions including cash, checks, and credit cards while following SMCVH policies
• Restock shelves, update pricing, check in vendor deliveries, and maintain inventory systems
• May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department
• May be required to assist pharmacist in retail and/or hospital pharmacy
• Performs a variety of tasks
• Typically reports to supervisor or manager
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the patients served
• Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens
• Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Communicate with co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Must have a Pharmacy Technician license with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy
• Must complete the Clearwater Valley and St. Mary's Health Technician in Training Program
• Demonstrated ability to use computer skills including keyboarding and practical data entry into data based software programs
• Full time, 40 hours per week
