Job summary

Kettering Health is seeking a Pharmacy Tech III for outpatient services in Centerville. You will perform advanced pharmacy functions under pharmacist supervision to ensure safe medication use and accurate preparation.

Responsibilities include inventory control, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with the pharmacy team to support timely patient care in a fast-paced hospital-like setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a certified pharmacy technician in a hospital or health system pharmacy setting.
• Current registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
• Active national pharmacy technician certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA).

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Pharmacy Tech III supports safe, effective, and timely medication use by performing advanced technical pharmacy functions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role ensures accurate medication preparation, inventory management, and regulatory compliance to optimize patient care and operational reliability. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a certified pharmacy technician in a hospital or health system pharmacy setting.

Required Licenses, Certifications, And Registrations

• Current registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.


• Active national pharmacy technician certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA).

• Employee demonstrates proper drug dose withdrawal from a vial


• Employee demonstrates consistent hand hygiene practices


• For Retail Pharmacy Positions:


• Employee demonstrates properly adding a new patient profile


• Employee demonstrates how to input a new prescription


• Employee demonstrates how to refill a prescription


• Employee demonstrates how to add a drug to inventory


• Employee demonstrates use of proper patient identifiers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.

Preferred Work Experience

• Four (4) or more years of relevant pharmacy technician experience, including experience with sterile and non-sterile compounding.
