UC San Diego Health is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician III to perform duties in a retail setting, focusing on improving medication access by investigating insurance benefits and reducing patient out-of-pocket costs.
Based on experience and licensure, the role may be hired at Tech II or Tech III, with responsibilities including collaboration with pharmacists, clinic staff, and providers, and oversight of benefits investigation compliance.

Under the general supervision of a Pharmacy Supervisor, the Outpatient Pharmacy Technician III is able to perform a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting. This position is responsible for improving medication access for UC San Diego Health Patients by investigating insurance benefits and completing the necessary work to provide the medication for the lowest possible out-of-pocket expense. They will work with pharmacists, other pharmacy colleagues, clinic staff and providers to achieve this. This position is also responsible for oversight of benefits investigation compliance and reporting any inconsistencies with that practice to the pharmacist in charge.
Depending on experience and licensure of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Pharm Tech II or Pharm Tech III.

Annual Full Pay Range: $65,918 - $81,975 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $31.57 - $39.26
