Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the processing of prescriptions and prior authorizations. You will verify member information, assist pharmacists, and ensure Medicare compliance where applicable. The role emphasizes accuracy, data entry, and strong communication with physicians and members.

Fully remote with limited onsite requirements and standard weekdays. This position requires an active license and at least two years in pharmacy settings, plus solid problem-solving

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• Requires an active, professional license, if required by state law, State Pharmacy Technician Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) requirements, to practice as a Pharmacy Technician within the scope of practice in a state or territory of the United States.
• Associates in this role are expected to have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.
• Computer Savvy

• Processes prior authorization requests from physicians offices and ensures compliance with Medicare requirements; informs relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.
• Provides resolution to grievances and appeals issues.
• Responds to inquiries from physicians, sales team, and members related to formulary and prescription benefits.
• Generates reports relating to rebates, physician utilization, Beers Criteria,
• Reliance members, and other ad hoc reports.
• Maintains record keeping of prior authorizations, rebates, and monthly reports.

Requirements:

Schedule:

Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Weekend coverage may be required based on business needs.

When scheduled for weekend work, weekday hours adjust to 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an additional five-hour shift on Saturday and/or Sunday.

Location:

Fully remote position with no in-office requirement.

Residency Requirement:

Candidates must live within one hour of a designated PulsePoint location.

Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Unless specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, contractors are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process.
