Job summary

Saint Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho, seeks a qualified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing prescriptions, performing dispensing and billing duties, and ensuring accuracy in medication packaging. GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties. Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities. Understands the limitations to performing certain responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remains within the scope of practice. Maintains competency to work in the IV room, including performing hazardous compounding. Provides some functional supervision of technicians. Ensures required departmental functions are completed to provide effective and efficient service. Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties. Precepting duties, as required for new hires and technician students. Mentors technicians in learning new tasks.
