Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA seeks a per diem Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists, patients, and healthcare staff in pharmaceutical services. Primary focus is timely delivery of medications to patient care areas and triage of medication requests within a collaborative, safety-focused team.

Responsibilities include dispensing, compounding topical preparations, repackaging unit doses, inventory management, and operating pharmacy automation systems.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Current Washington State Pharmacy Technician license.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication / interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated organizational ability.
• Able to work efficiently and accurately in busy and stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Answers and triages phone calls and in-person requests within the department, utilizing excellent customer service skills.
• Accurately calculates, determines, and selects the correct dose to be measured, withdrawn, and/or assembled for the final product to be checked by the pharmacist.
• Safely and accurately prepares medications to be ultimately checked by the pharmacist.
• Utilizes compounding formulas to prepare topical ointments and creams; repackages unit dose medications; compounds oral solutions; prepares hazardous medications.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking stock, ordering, and rotating stock.
• Ensures proper storage of medications according to storage requirements and policies.
• Provides timely delivery of medications to patient care areas and supports restocking and routine requests.
• Operates pharmacy automation and technology necessary for daily activities; processes medication requests; troubleshoots cabinets; runs reports.
• Maintains chain of custody for controlled substances and proper documentation of CS activity.
• Completes daily tasks and communicates with team to support workflow.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
