Responsibilities

The Research Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the research patient. Effectively performs the activities and duties of the Pharmacy Technician II position. In addition, the technician maintains competency and is scheduled to work with regular frequency in more advanced Pharmacy Technician roles. Advanced Pharmacy Technician roles include: Quality Improvement, Education / Training, Investigational Drug Inventory Management, Research. Serves as a lead technician / super user in pharmacy operations, technology implementations, quality projects, etc.

Qualifications

Please include in your application a copy of your Florida Board Registration. If you are a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT, CHpT-Adv), include a copy of your PTCB or NHA certification.

Pharmacy Tech I

High School diploma or equivalent. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern with the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) within 12 months of hire (PTCB (preferred) or NHA). Effectively reads, writes, speaks, and understands English. Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions. Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system. Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills. Experience with the use of office software computer applications keyboarding. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail. Proven organizational and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment. The following are preferred: Completion of post-secondary education. Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Pharmacy Tech II

High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of at least 6 months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Current accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT); PTCB (preferred) or NHA. Effectively reads, writes, speaks, and understands English. Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions. Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system. Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills. Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail. Proven organizational and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment. The following are preferred: Completion of post-secondary education. Demonstration of leadership and team building skills. Experience in teaching and / or training.

Pharmacy Tech III

High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of an Advanced Level ASHP/ACPE-accredited program or at least one year of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Completion of Tier 3 Advanced Training Requirements. Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English. Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions. Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system. Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills. Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail. Proven organizational and problem solving skills. Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment. Demonstration of excellence in leadership and team building skills. Experience in teaching and / or training. No history of drug abuse or misuse; or proof of successful completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required. Preferred: Completion of post-secondary education preferred. Prior experience performing advanced Pharmacy Technician activities preferred.

Licensure/Certification

Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Current accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT); PTCB (preferred) or NHA.

Compensation Detail

The range for a Pharmacy Tech I up to a Pharmacy Tech III is $19.92 - $33.36/hour; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
