Job summary

Omnicare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join its closed-door pharmacy team. You will work with the pharmacist to ensure accurate dispensing, maintain customer records, and provide excellent service in a supportive environment.

Required are an active pharmacy technician credential and at least one year of experience; a High School Diploma or GED is also required. Benefits and growth opportunities are included with full-time employment.

• One year or more of pharmacy technician experience.
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
• PTCB National Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain workflow in the front-end pharmacy department and monitor productivity.
• Enter prescriptions and work with the pharmacist to ensure accuracy.
• Triaging customer service requests and maintaining accurate customer records.
• Provide information on allergies, drug interactions, and other safety flags.
• Cross-train in other areas to support growth within the organization.

Day in the Life:

As a Front End Technician, you will work to maintain workflow in the department, monitor productivity and performance. Our front-end team is focused on entering in orders, working alongside the pharmacist to ensure accuracy, and providing best in customer service.

Additional tasks and responsibilities include:

• Calculating and/or verifying correct dosage based on prescriptions
• Assist in reviewing the narcotic Rx's are back in timely manner
• Providing dispensing pharmacist with information regarding allergies and drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other items that the computer flags
• Creating and maintaining accurate customer records
• Triaging customer service requests by department, urgency, and information/response required

You will also be cross trained in other areas of the pharmacy such as Back End and Control Returns department giving you an opportunity for your overall growth in future.

Required Qualifications:

• Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
• One (1) year or more of pharmacy technician experience

• Prior experience in the long-term care industry
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• PTCB National Certification
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service setting

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$17.00 - $28.46

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
