Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Enhanced Care Pharmacy in the Blue Building. This location serves patients from the Positive Care Clinic and supports their prescription needs in a hospital setting.

Shifts are mostly days, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with every 3rd weekend included in the schedule. The team recently added a filling robot and extra space to improve patient care and processing of medications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current MN Pharmacy Technician registration.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification within 1 year of hire.
• Intern license with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy acceptable.
• Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or 1,000 hours of Pharmacy experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Answer phones for the pharmacy department and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
• Prepackage, prepares, labels, and hands out prescriptions after signing off by a pharmacist.
• Maintain cash registers, credit card machines, and cash transaction reporting.
• Process daily deposits for cashier’s office and assist with billing/credits.
• Stock inventory and manage pharmacy supplies.
• Enter outpatient prescriptions and update EMR with patient interactions.
• Triage orders and insurance rejections, assist with prior authorizations.
• Perform calculations to determine correct doses and ensure proper product selection.
• Support a clean, organized pharmacy environment and patient education materials.

This pharmacy exclusively serves patients who receive care at the Positive Care Clinic. The pharmacy is open from 8 am to 5 pm every weekday, with most shifts between 8:30 am and 5 pm, and has been recently renovated to include a filling robot and additional space for patient care and prescription processing.
