Job summary

MercyOne Genesis is seeking a Pharmacy Tech I to join our Pharmacy team. The role supports staff pharmacists and contributes to accurate medication dispensing across rotating shifts.

The position offers a full-time schedule with 32 hours per week and rotating weekends/holidays. Ideal candidates will hold a high school diploma or GED, complete Iowa Board of Pharmacy registration within 60 days, obtain national certification within a year, and learn sterile compounding techniques to deliver

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 60 days of employment as a Certified Pharmacy Technician; provide proof of certification or enrollment for first renewal.
• National certification with a Nationally Accredited Certification Board within 1 year.
• Must learn sterile compounding techniques.

As a Pharmacy Tech I at MercyOne Genesis, you will:

• Assist the Staff Pharmacists in providing professional Pharmacy services
• Perform in any functional area of the Department to provide accurate and efficient dispensing of medications

Schedule

• 32 hrs a week

General Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 60 days of employment as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy technicians shall be required to submit proof of certification as a certified pharmacy technician, proof of enrollment in a first professional degree program in pharmacy, or proof of enrollment in clinical training by a graduate of a foreign pharmacy program for the first renewal or restoration that occurs after the license has been issued for at least 2 years, regardless of whether or not the license has been active, inactive, or not renewed. Annual pharmacy tech license renewal occurs by March 31st every other year.
• National Certified with a Nationally Accredited Certification Board within 1 year
• Must learn sterile compounding techniques
